วันที่ 21 ตุลาคม65 ที่กองบัญชาการตำรวจท่องเที่ยว พล.ต.ต. อภิชาติ สุริบุญญา รองผู้บัญชาการตำรวจท่องเที่ยว และโฆษก บช. ทท. เปิดเผยว่า
เมื่อวันที่17-19 ต.ค. 65 ที่ผ่านมา พล.ต.ท. สุคุณ พรหมายน ผู้บัญชาการตำรวจท่องเที่ยว(ผบช.ทท.) มอบหมายให้ตนไปร่วมงานและเป็นวิทยากรในงานสัมมนาเชิงปฏิบัติการเรื่องความปลอดภัยและความมั่นคงด้านการท่องเที่ยวที่จังหวัดภูเก็ต ตามคำเชิญของสถานทูตสหราชอาณาจักรประจำประเทศไทย
งานสัมมนาเชิงปฏิบัติการครั้งนี้จัดขึ้นบนความร่วมมือระหว่างสถานทูตสหราชอาณาจักรประจำประเทศไทยและสถานทูตออสเตรเลียประจำประเทศไทย มีวัตถุประสงค์ให้เป็นเวทีระหว่างเจ้าหน้าที่สถานทูต หน่วยงานภาคธุรกิจและภาครัฐที่เกี่ยวข้องด้านการท่องเที่ยวในจังหวัดภูเก็ต
เพื่อให้ทราบถึงภารกิจและเจตจำนงของสถานทูตที่จะดูแลนักท่องเที่ยวคนชาติของตัวเองให้มีความปลอดภัยร่วมกันหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องในไทย และพร้อมรับฟังปัญหาการดูแลนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติที่ผ่านมาจากหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องเพื่อนำไปสู่การดูนักท่องเที่ยวในอนาคตให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้นต่อไปด้วย
พล.ต.ต. อภิชาติ กล่าวว่า ในส่วนของกองบัญชาการตำรวจท่องเที่ยว ตนเป็นผู้แทน ได้กล่าวให้ที่ประชุมรับทราบถึงภารกิจของตำรวจท่องเที่ยวซึ่งเป็นหน่วยงานหลักในการดูแลความปลอดภัยให้กับนักท่องเที่ยว และได้อธิบายความแตกต่างในการปฏิบัติงานของตำรวจท่องเที่ยวกับตำรวจที่ปฏิบัติงานในพื้นที่
รวมทั้งแนวทางในอนาคตที่ตำรวจท่องเที่ยวจะใช้เทคโนโลยีขั้นสูงมาเสริมการปฏิบัติเพื่อดูแลนักท่องเที่ยวให้ปลอดภัยแบบ real time มากขึ้น ซึ่งจะเริ่มต้นการปรับและการพัฒนาตั้งแต่ปีงบประมาณ 2566 เป็นต้นไป
การสัมมนาในครั้งนี้ ทำให้เกิดความร่วมมือระหว่างหน่วยงานการท่องเที่ยวภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และหน่วยงานที่มีหน้าที่ดูแลนักท่องเที่ยวจากต่างประเทศ ซึ่งเป็นไปตามมาตรการสากลว่าด้วยการปกป้องคุ้มครองนักท่องเที่ยว หรือ International Code for Protection of Tourists หรือ ICPT ที่ได้รับการรับรองจากองค์การการท่องเที่ยวโลกเมื่อปลายปีที่แล้ว โดยประเทศสมาชิกทุกประเทศ รวมถึงประเทศไทย จะต้องนำมาตรการนี้มาปรับใช้อย่างเป็นรูปธรรมต่อไป
Tourist Police joins with the British and Australian embassies to take care of foreign tourists
Today (21 Oct 2022) at 1000 hrs at the Tourist Police Bureau, Pol Lt Gen Sukhun Prommayon has assigned Pol Maj Gen Apichat Suriboonya, Deputy Commissioner of the Tourist Police and spokesman for the Bureau informed the media that on 17-19 Oct 2022, the Commissioner of the Tourist Police assigned him to attend and be a guest speaker at a workshop on tourism safety and security conference in Phuket with the invitation of the British Embassy in Thailand.
This conference was organized in collaboration between the UK Embassy in Thailand and the Australian Embassy in Thailand with the aim of providing a platform for embassy staff, business and government agencies involved in tourism in Phuket to know the mission and intent of the embassy to take care of their own national tourists to be safe together, as well as be ready to listen to problems in taking care of foreign tourists in the past from relevant agencies in order to lead to more efficient performance in the future.
Pol Maj Gen Apichat said that as the representative of the Tourist Police Bureau, he told the conference regarding the mission of the Tourist Police, which is the main agency in ensuring the safety of tourists, and explained the differences in the operations between the Tourist Police and the police officers who work at the police stations. Also, he informed the conference that the tourism police is going to use advanced technology to enhance the practice of keeping tourists safe in real time, which will begin to adjust and develop in the fiscal 2023 onwards.
This conference has resulted in cooperation between government and private tourism agencies and foreign agencies responsible for taking care of tourists. This is in line with the International Code for Protection of Tourists (ICPT) adopted by the World Tourism Organization late last year in which all member countries including Thailand must take it to be applied in a concrete way.
